This course is ideal for newly qualified Lawyers or Lawyers with little or no experience of Planning Law and / or advising Planning Committees
This course will enable you to:
- Grasp the legal and procedural aspects of the decision-making process
- Understand common issues such as members’ interests, bias and pre-determination
- Consider case studies and participate in workshops
This course will include:
- An overview of relevant planning law and practice
- Dealing with common problems such as refusals against officers’ advice
- An overview of key administrative law concepts
- The committee process – reports, probity, interacting with members and the public.
