This course is designed specifically for enforcement officers
who are looking to put together a file of evidence for prosecution.
This workshop will:
- Cover drafting a witness statement
- Cover conducting brief note book interview under caution
This course will include:
- PACE and understanding the basic rules of evidence
- Administering a PACE caution
- Interviewing under caution
- When to issue code B notices
- Preparation of witness statements
- Presenting a case to the prosecutor
- Procedure in court and giving evidence
- Outline the court procedure and the burden of proof so that officers will know what happens in court and what is expected of them
To ensure that delegates put learning into practice the course includes a signing off sheet for managerial use. This simple checklist is designed to ensure quality of work and standards of performance on every prosecution file.
