Many cases are won and lost at the preparation stage. The course will concentrate on the preparation for contested and uncontested hearings. It will be of interest to those starting out in prosecutions and those wishing to explore some of the finer points which can prevent cases being lost.
This course includes:
- Making use of a little known rules to find out about your opponents case
- Case law on dealing with technical arguments that arise without notice
- Making sure everything goes smoothly on the day
- Steps that can be taken to encourage that court to impose fines which are commensurate with the offence
- Spotting common evidential weaknesses in your case before the defence
- Preparing to meet defence objections
